JOURNEY HOME / MISSION EARTH - Effective teams
Overview
Mission Earth
« You and your crew have 20 light years to save the earth from an Alien attack and the spreading of a deadly disease. You are a member of a squadron on board a spaceship, and you must avoid extra terrestials and their powerful vessels as well as sun storms, whilst simultaneously searching for the Bio-Beacon technology. Choose your equipment as best you can so that you can return to earth as quickly as possible. Should you stop-over on planets across the galaxy to gather information or should you head directly for the "blue planet"? »
Activity
Mission Earth is an interactive activity based on team building. Its goal is to provide an intense, enjoyable, original experience. It is set in year 3000, and your squadron of ships is engaged in a race against time. Each Starship is represented by a team of 4 to 5 people. Each team member plays an important and unique role in the sequence of events, bringing his own experience to the mission. The objective is to save Earth from the Aliens and to find the technology in time to stop the spreading of a deadly virus.
First, the participants must follow a training programme at the Academy of the Intergalactic Fleet. The activity begins with a countdown to their life and death challenge which immediately puts them under pressure. The teams must find the Bio-Beacon technology, confront various dangers, turn unexpected opportunities to their advantage and finally... save Earth.
Mission Earth does not put the fleet of vessels in competition, but everyone is in a frantic race to be the first to reach Earth. Challenges arise because information has not been shared, resources squandered, the clients' needs ignored, opportunities missed, time wasted, trust not completely established and energies inappropriately channelled. Only at the climax of the activity do certain groups realise that they must agree on ways to cooperate so that they can combine their efforts and share information. The teams must complete their mission before the final deadline by concentrating on the real enemies and keeping the objective in mind.
